Permits

From permitting through photography, St. Vartan Park Conservancy worked with the location and production agencies to ensure that a November 3, 2022, Kids Foot Locker photo shoot on the basketball court (above) and athletic field was a success as both locations stayed open during the production for public sports and recreation activities

You can initiate a request for dedicated use of St. Vartan Park space for an organized sports or recreation activity, a special event or a film and/or photography shoot. Permitting for each of these three categories are addressed below.

Organized Sports or Recreation Activity Permit

Special Event Permit

For a special event of 20 or more participants, please submit a permit for St. Vartan Park playground, athletic field or sports court space as instructed on this NYC Parks page.

Among the permits issued for St. Vartan Park was for this 2014 fictional scene for the CBS series Person of Interest with series stars Michael Emerson and Amy Acker

Film and/or Photography Shoot Permit

St. Vartan Park Conservancy has served as a liaison for the park for successful film shoots in the park. Before you contact the Conservancy, please review the guidelines on this NYC Parks page.

Basketball legend Carmelo Anthony, who retired in 2023 as the No. 9 scorer in NBA history (28,289 points), appears on the St. Vartan Park basketball court for a Valentino fashion shoot during his last year with the New York Knicks
